I do agree with you PipTrader, nonetheless demo tests are not reliable at all. I will add that you need to follow that kind of tests very lightly. Check the article
on demo testing at Forex Robots - LIVE Account Trading Competition, is a pretty good one explanation.

Hi there ,
I did start off with a demo a/c as it helped me learn a lot about trading. I sownloaded WSD fx's MT4 platform and was impressed. They offer step by step support and great spreads which are better than most major FX brokers.

Of course I did, every trader should try the demo before going live.

ACM Advanced Trader platform | Free forex practice account
I trade with broker ACM. They have both fundamental and technical analysis right on the platform, and there is a also a video tour on the web that tells you how to use it. Very important to have a guide, specially for a newbie

Yeah, demo is a must before going Live. Nevertheless, the choosing of the broker is very important too, some brokers will allow you to rip amazing profits in their demo accounts only with tiny spreads, no re-quoutes among others. For me, the best way to know if a robot works is by the Real Money test at Forex Robots - LIVE Account Trading Competition , as I'm a robot trader mostly but for manual traders there's no solution other than demo.

Demo account certainly needed. But trading on a demo account is notable for its psychology. I think before putting large sums on deposit, you need to practice on a real account with a small investment.

Training with a demo account can help you get ready for the real deal. However, the real experience is when you start trading with a real account.

Start slowly and good luck!
